NOVÉ PLEMENO HOLUBŮ
Niagara Pouter.
French: Boulant de Niagara. German: Niagara Kröpfer.
Origin: Canada, Niagara region. Standard: Canada.
Description: Medium size elegant pouter with lively temperament, good flyer, often clapping wings, upright stance, with a peak crest, coloured shield and well formed pear shaped crop, very friendly personality.
Breed characteristics.
Head and Crest 15: In proportion, oval and smooth, with somewhat developed forehead. A high set peak crest, that is broad at its base with a definite break at the rear, which is in the level with bottom of eye and middle of the beak.
Eyes 2: Dark, with sparkling expression. Eye ceres small, pale and fine.
Beak 2: Medium in length and thickness, pale in colour. The wattles are small, neat and white powdered.
Neck and Crop 20: Long, carried upright, well developed pear-shaped crop, widest at the upper neck and without a defined waist.
Body 5: Breast long and fleshy, not too wide, so crop can be carried well forward without a waist becoming visible. Back long, in proportion and in a straight, sloping line from the shoulders to the tip of tail.
Wings 3: Broad and held tight to the body, covering the back well, primary wing tips are carried on tail, flight tips almost touching but not crossing.
Tail 3: Well closed, not too long, in line with the back, not touching floor.
Legs 5: Clean, red, rather longish, placed well back, not too widely spaced, thighs easily visible with smooth and tight feathering.
Posture and action 20: Upright, unconstrained and frolic posture with curiosity, in flight often clapping wings. It is very friendly and quite responsive to human voice and attention.
Feathering 5: Well developed, rich, smooth and tightly fitting.
Colour and Marking 20: White with even coloured wing-shields and wing butts. All colours intense, rich even and clean. With reds and yellows, the ends of the secondary and primary feathers are paler. 7 to 10 white primary feathers, equal number on each wing. Some coloured feathers behind the legs are tolerated.
Major faults: Poor crop shape and development; too large, small or weak in stature; horizontal posture; legs short or too wide apart; wide or round crest; less than 7 or more than 11 white flights; break in the mane not present; coarse or red eye ceres; poor colour and marking; lack of animation; extensive foot feathering; eyes other then dark.
Order of importance: General appearance-body form-globe-posture-head and crest-legs-colour and marking-eye ceres.
Ring size: 8mm.
